What is Solar Payback Period?

The solar payback period is the estimated time required for the cumulative financial savings from a solar system to recover the initial investment. It is generally calculated using system cost, electricity savings, solar generation, tariffs, maintenance costs and applicable incentives. Actual payback can vary as electricity prices and generation change.
