What is Net Metering?

Net metering is a billing arrangement in which electricity generated by a grid-connected rooftop solar system can be consumed on-site, while eligible surplus electricity can be exported to the grid through an appropriate meter. The treatment of exported electricity depends on the applicable state regulations and DISCOM rules.
